Can I use my medical aid with Contro?

Yes, but only for your medication costs.

Subscription services

If you are on one of our subscription services, medical aid customers are still required to pay our R220 service fee each month. You can use the invoice received to claim the service/consultation fee directly from your medical aid provider.

Our Partner Pharmacy will make the claim for your medication with your medical aid scheme each month. If your claim is unsuccessful we will reach out to you and confirm you are happy to switch to paying privately for your medication each month instead.

Once-off services

If you have signed up for one of our once-off services, medical aid customers are still required to pay our R450 consultation fee at checkout. You can use the invoice received to claim the service/consultation fee directly from your medical aid provider.

Our Partner Pharmacy will make the claim for your medication with your medical aid scheme. If your claim is unsuccessful we will reach out to you and confirm you are happy to pay privately for your medication instead.

If you are unsure whether your medical aid scheme will cover your prescribed medication, or allow you to use your savings to pay for your prescribed medication, please contact your provider. To see a breakdown of Contro's service fees please see How much does Contro’s service cost?

During your initial sign up process you will be able to choose whether you want to pay using cash or claim through medical aid on your personal details form. Don't worry about making a claim yourself, our Partner Pharmacy does this on your behalf every month!

You are able change your payment type on your personal details form. Please note this will only take effect on your next repeat.

Please ensure your medical aid details are always up to date under your Personal Details section.
