We've set out everything you need to know about our service and how it works below.

The sign up process

To sign up on the Zapmed platform, either click the menu on the top right of your screen and select the "Log in / sign up" option. Here you'll be asked to enter your email address and a password. Once you've submitted your details, you will be sent a verification email.

|| Please check your spam folder, as sometimes Zapmed's emails don't get cleared by your email service provider. To avoid this in the future, add hello@zapmed.co.za to your email's contact list.

Please click the "Verify Email Address" button and you'll be taken to a confirmation page. Now you can login into your Zapmed profile!

How do I track my medication delivery?

Once you have received an email or SMS from our Partner Pharmacy informing you that your order has been dispatched, you can track your medication.

Use the tracking number provided in the SMS sent from the Partner Pharmacy to track your parcel.

You can also find the link to track your medication on your account. Please log in to your account via our website using your login details. Navigate to “My details” in the side menu, and click on the “Order history” tab at the top of the page. Here you will find a list of your orders.

Click on the link to “Track my parcel”.

|| Please note, unfortunately, you will be unable to make changes to your delivery address once payment has been received and you have received your Payment Confirmation email (invoice) from Zapmed. We can only attempt to re-route your delivery once it has been returned to our partner pharmacy's distribution warehouse by the assigned courier company which can take up to a further 3 business days. Re-routing your order will cause significant delays of your prescribed medication and you will not receive your delivery within our 1 -3 business day policy.

How much does Zapmed's service cost?

Zapmed offers two types of order models:

Subscription Orders: These repeat on a monthly basis. Once-Off Orders: These are non-repeatable orders (once-off consultation and medication delivery, then complete).

Subscription Services

Our service fee for our subscription services is R220 per month for our general services, and R450 for our weight-loss subscription model. This spreads out the cost of your doctor's consultation and prescription fees over periods of six months at a time. We also provide delivery within that fee to anywhere in the country, inclusive of packaging and VAT. This will also include your prescription management, and on-going support from our team.

All customers will pay our R220 service fee each month, or R450 per month for weight-loss.

Cash customers will additionally be charged for the cost of their prescribed medication each month. The price of treatment can vary and will depend on which medication your assigned Partner Doctor prescribes you. Our Partner Doctors will always work within your budget and ensure you get the best possible treatment available.

If you are a medical aid customer, you will only pay our R220 consultation fee which you can use the invoice received via email to claim back directly from your medical aid provider. Your medication costs will be claimed by our partner pharmacy and we will communicate if the claim is not successful.

To make this simple, we’ve broken down the key facts you need to know into bitesize chunks, so you can feel confident that you understand the contraceptive pill, and that it is the method of birth control for you.

Types of the contraceptive pill

1. The combined pill

Commonly known as ‘the pill’, the combined pill contains artificial versions of the female hormones oestrogen and progesterone. These hormones are naturally produced in the ovaries. There are 3 main types of combined pill:

Monophasic 21-day pills: Every pill in these packs have the same amount of hormones in it. This is the most common type of contraceptive pill.
Phasic 21-day pills: Each pack contains different coloured sections of pills. The pills in each section contain different amounts of hormones, so it is important they are taken in the correct order.
Every day pills: Each pack contains 21 active pills and 7 inactive or sugar pills, which must be taken in the correct order.

What is thrush?

Thrush is a yeast infection caused by a fungus called Candida. Candida is harmless and actually lives on our skin, and inside our body such as in our vaginas. It does not cause any symptoms because it is kept under control by normal bacteria. However, when the balance of that bacteria changes, especially in warm and moist environments, thrush tends to grow. This balance can be interrupted for a number of different reasons. Some of these include if your skin is damaged and irritated, you’re taking antibiotics, your immune system is compromised and if you are pregnant.
