Acid reflux, also known as gastroesophageal reflux (GER) or heartburn, is a condition characterized by the backward flow of stomach acid into the esophagus.
This can cause symptoms such as:
- Burning sensation in the chest (heartburn),
- Regurgitation of acidic fluid into the mouth and
- Discomfort or pain in the chest or upper abdomen.
