# How do I prevent thrush?

Prevention of thrush is achieved through healthy lifestyle changes such as good oral hygiene, avoiding high-sugar foods, changing your underwear after swimming or working out, avoid using perfumed soaps and shower gels, take showers instead of baths, practice safe sex with a condom or other barrier method and taking a probiotic when prescribed and on a course of antibiotics.
