# Can I switch to the generic version of my prescribed medication to save money?

If you are a subscription customer and wish to switch to a generic of your prescribed medication, your assigned Partner Doctor will be happy to approve this change of your next repeat prescription subject to any medical qualifications. 

Generics are just as safe and effective as their brand-name counterparts. Most individuals don’t notice a difference between branded and generic medications. 

If you want to switch to a generic, please email hello@zapmed.co.za, and we will ask your assigned Partner Doctor to update your prescription and subscription plan.
